The story behind the art
This mandala is dedicated to my childhood in the English countryside. When I was young we had a mighty old oak tree in my back garden and it was the centre of my playtime for years. Now I think back to that beautiful tree and think about the hundreds of years it must had stood there, being a guardian of that garden, standing over so many little people playing and growing up. And now I find, no matter where I am in the world, from Canada to Italy or as far as New Zealand, if I see an oak tree, I'm reminded of that tree I would play under as a child, and I feel so connected to home through the immensity of nature spanning all those miles. Because nature has that power to remind me that everything is connected. Everywhere in nature can be home.
