The story behind the art
The theme of this drawing is big dreams. The really big kind. The scary kind. The kind that takes time, courage, persistence, and inevitable failures along the way. This drawing was started with this energy of "why not start now, however you can"? The original artwork measures 42x42cm, one of my largest, so I was able to create lots of detailed interweaving layers expanding out from the central point, reflecting the idea of opportunities expanding exponentially from the smallest of starting point. The dotwork or stippling in this piece adds layers of depth and a powerful effect of the mandala jumping out of the page, which is one of my favourite parts of this design.
