An ocean-lovers dream! This design was created by Marie over 40 hours of hand drawing using fine line ink pens.
The story behind the art
Drawn on a tiny island in Indonesia, this piece was inspired by the stunning underwater world around Komodo National Park. Batu Balong was the most breathtaking dive site (meaning hole in the rock), an underwater city of coral that envelopes you in the world of fish, sharks, manta rays and countless other marine life. As well as the central octopus, this mandala features manta rays drawn in Koru (a traditional art style of the Māori people of New Zealand), jellyfish, macro-algea, seagrass and coral. The perfect collection of marine magic for your walls, celebrating the diversity and beauty of life in our oceans.
